Centenary

On Saturday, 8 August 2009, Paul Lawrie MBE visited the Club to play a 9 hole Exhibition Match, partnered by his 10 year old son, Michael, who plays off 18.  Paul was presented with a Certificate as Honorary President.  He was also presented with a cheque for his Foundation and a bottle of Centenary Whisky.  Club members were able to see his Claret Jug which he won at the Open Championship at Carnoustie in 1999.

The evening of Friday 17 July 2009 saw a very successful Sports Dinner held in the marquee on the playing fields of Hopeman.  Click here to see the report and photos.

On Sunday, 10 May 2009 the Centenary Open Texas Scramble was held at the Club in glorious weather.  A total of 45 teams competed, Men, Ladies and Mixed - 179 competitors.  Organisation by Graham Brain and his team was superb, and the greens staff maintained their high standards for the course.

The winning team was from Westhill in Aberdeen - Andy Fleming, Len Sharp, Pat Scanlon and Lee Morris with a net 55.1 - Well done, lads.

The Trophy was presented by Bill Budge of The Stewart Group (Shipbrokers) and was a magnificent Quaich.  It is not yet known how many bottle of our Centenary Whisky this held.  Our grateful thanks to The Stewart Group and all our sponsors for a very enjoyable day.
